Ancient Greece – Wine Grapes 1/2-gram gold coin 2023
Expires soon
A grape cluster in ancient Greece was the symbol of one guy: Dionysus, god of wine! In the early 8th century BC, the Greek colony of Naxos was the first to really begin worshipping Dionysus and minting his likeness onto all of their coins. This half-gram gold piece is a throwback to when any coin coming out of Naxos was designed with at least a few grapes to honor the wine god!
